Graphic Designer (Magazine Layout) – Awakening for Dignity Magazine

About the Role

Awakening for Dignity Magazine is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer to join our editorial design team. The role involves designing visually compelling magazine layouts that align with our editorial vision and maintain high standards of print publishing.


Key Responsibilities

  • Designing magazine layouts and page compositions using Adobe InDesign
  • Preparing accurate, print-ready files with attention to production quality
  • Applying strong typography, grid systems, and visual hierarchy
  • Ensuring consistency with editorial and brand guidelines
  • Collaborating with editorial teams to enhance storytelling through design

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign (mandatory)
  • Strong understanding of typography, layout design, and print production
  • Excellent attention to detail and consistency
  • Ability to work within structured editorial and brand guidelines
  • Prior experience in magazine or print design is preferred

Associate Editor – Print

Location: Nagpur, Maharashtra
Job Type: Full-time | Work from Office
Salary: ₹15,000 – ₹25,000 per month


About the Role

The Associate Editor – Print will take full ownership of magazine production—from planning and content development to final print execution. The role also involves handling special issues, editorial supplements, and collaborative projects beyond the regular publication cycle.

This position requires strong editorial judgement, excellent coordination skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality print output under strict deadlines.


Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-End Magazine Ownership

  • Independently manage assigned magazine issues from concept to final print sign-off
  • Lead issue planning, theme development, and content structuring
  • Ensure timely completion of all editorial deliverables as per production schedules

2. Editorial Planning & Content Development

  • Conceptualize impactful, value-driven content aligned with the magazine’s mission
  • Maintain consistency in tone, language, and editorial quality
  • Develop engaging narratives, features, and reader-focused content

3. Editing, Proofreading & Content Refinement

  • Edit, review, and refine content from contributors and writers
  • Ensure accuracy, clarity, grammar, and editorial consistency
  • Deliver print-ready, polished content at final proof stage

4. Team & Contributor Coordination

  • Coordinate with writers, editors, designers, and production teams
  • Guide and review work of junior editorial members
  • Manage timelines, revisions, and approvals efficiently

5. Design & Print Coordination

  • Work closely with design teams on layout, visuals, and page flow
  • Ensure proper pagination, captions, credits, and visual balance
  • Approve final layouts before sending files to press

6. Reader Engagement & Submissions

  • Oversee reader interaction content such as letters, feedback, and submissions
  • Curate and edit selected contributions for publication

7. Special Editorial Projects

  • Lead or support special issues, supplements, compilations, and campaign-based publications
  • Contribute to cross-department initiatives involving outreach, events, or partnerships
  • Assist in improving editorial systems, workflows, and documentation

8. Production & Deadline Management

  • Own editorial timelines and ensure strict adherence to print schedules
  • Identify and resolve risks affecting production deadlines
  • Support editorial leadership in last-minute updates and quality checks
